The more seasoned we get, the more we drink coffee according to a study by the National Coffee Association. Out of the roughly 3,000 people surveyed, 69% of the 60 and older crowd said they drank coffee the day before. 40- to 60-year-olds were at 60%; 25- to 39-year-olds at 44% and 18- to 24-year-olds at 29%. Babies gave a gurgle but no answer, although what they meant was "Milk, white, no coffee."

I am in the 25-39 crowd, and I may be addicted to coffee. I drink it every day. Iced coffee year-round, single espresso after dinner, Americano if it's freezing out. I know that 140-degrees is the perfect drink-immediately temperature. I also know, sadly, that my bank account is going down as quickly as that afternoon cappucino. Since Feb 1, I spent $27.40 on the sweet/bitter bean. That's $77 over the course of this month, and unacceptable for my budget.

I'm wary of splurging $200 to $600 on a primo coffee machine, but I can't keep this expensive habit up until I'm 60. Does your coffee bill look like mine, or have you found a way to keep the price down? And, for anyone with an in-house machine, do you find it saves a bundle of $$?
