Single women spending more on themselves than on others Health & Family Jeremy Vohwinkle / 03:24 PM, Monday, February 01, 2010 / / Report this / Vote this up / 0

I like experimenting with the data for those in my location that fit my age group (26-35) and I started thinking about what others my age do in terms of charitable giving. We give to a few charities throughout the year and it generally falls right within the average for our location and age group. But out of curiosity I wanted to see if men or women were more charitable.

I was actually a little surprised to find that single men spent a little more on charity than single women in this age group. On the other hand, women seem to go out of their way to spend quite a bit more on personal care. Ladies, you look great just how you are, so how about giving a little bit more? You don't want word to get out that guys are more charitable and caring.

All kidding aside, I think it's even more shocking to see just how small the charitable giving expense is across the board. People will drop $100/month on a cell phone bill or maybe even double that on premium TV channels, yet hardly scrape together $40 or $50 a month to help others.
