Fun fact: San Francisco spends 43 percent more on food and drink than national average Food & Drink Presh Talwalkar / 12:37 AM, Friday, April 16, 2010 / / Report this / Vote this up / 0

Yesterday I discussed how Illinois spends about 13 percent more than the national average on shopping. It was fun to see the statistic held over the year from month to month and I discussed a graph that illustrates this.

I was doing a similar exercise today with food and drink spending in California. I was amazed to see that both San Francisco and California food spending showed the same sorts of monthly variation as the national spending. Here is the graph.

San Francisco residents spend just about 43 percent more every month on food and drink. This is compared to the state of California which spends about 14 percent more than the national average.

Again, amazing to see local and state data resembling the national trend!
