Jaidev Shergill is CEO of Bundle and his Bundle spend type is Thrill Jockey. Newly married, he is constantly reminded of the importance of budgeting – it’s easy to get carried away with a wedding. He and his wife, Kristin, are now working on establishing their goals and money guidelines together.
Jaidev has spent most of his professional life in finance. Most recently he was working with Citigroup, where he was involved in developing and investing in innovative businesses and technologies that solved money related issues for people. He has worked in investment banking, management consulting and consumer banking. Jaidev studied engineering at Northwestern University and has an MBA from INSEAD in France.
Jaidev's on Twitter, Facebook and available via email: Jaidev.Shergill@bundle.com.
Phil Kim is CTO and his Bundle spend type is Alpha Shopper. Like many of his friends, Phil thinks he spends too much and saves too little. His personal spending vices are gadgets for himself, toys for his kids, entertainment (are poker losses an expense or investment?), and flowers for his wife, who would very much appreciate it if Bundle can help him get his personal finances on track.
Phil has been working with web technology for over ten years, including digital initiatives for Major League Baseball, Thomson Reuters, and Google.
He's on Twitter and available at phil@bundle.com.
Mark Armstrong is Director of Content and his Bundle spend type is Wired Thing. He swore off credit cards at age 28 after going into debt during his first three years living (beyond his means) in New York City. Nowadays, he and his wife still have just one rewards card – they pay it off in full each month -- and they just started dropping a percentage of their savings into their daughter’s 529.
Mark's a veteran of digital media and advertising, having served as news director for People.com and worked with brands including Mastercard, Mott’s, and the U.S. Army.
He's on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and can also be reached at mark@bundle.com.
Mike Garelik is Director of Product Development and Marketing and his Bundle spend type is Proud Provider. Mike got his first credit card while in college and always paid it off on time -- until online payments (and no the bill in the mail) made it too easy to forget. Late fees ensued. Now, Mike and his wife have taken steps to get their budget and payments automated. This includes automatic saving from each direct deposit paycheck.
Mike most recently worked at Citi Ventures, where he launched the Tap and Go and mobile payment initiatives, and worked to bring innovation and a consumer focus to financial services. Prior to this, he worked in marketing for Bertelsmann and Time Warner. Mike is a graduate of The University of Michigan, and has a MBA from NYU, Stern.
Mike can be reached at Mike@bundle.com.
Janet Paskin is Bundle's Managing Editor, and her spend type is High Roller. Pre-Bundle, Janet wrote about mutual funds, insurance, bonds, financial advisors, policy and taxes for SmartMoney Magazine. After years as a personal finance journalist, she usually knows what she should do with her money, but she's been known to spend too much on shoes, carry a balance on her credit card, and take a flier on international stocks. Before getting hooked on personal finance, Janet was an award-winning sports reporter; she also wrote a book about the 1962 Mets.
Find her on Twitter, Facebook and at janet@bundle.com.
Mohamed Khalil is Director of Finance and Strategic Partnerships and his Bundle spend type is Thrill Jockey, which is quite appropriate given his love of dangerous hobbies and fast cars. His goal is to pay down his student loan debt in five years and buy a house with a garage. Or maybe just a garage.
Mo has an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and an MBA from Wharton. He was a management consultant at both First Manhattan Consulting Group and Novantas before working at Merrill Lynch and Citigroup in business strategy and new product development.
Mo is on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn and can also be reached at mo@bundle.com.
Debra Lin is Startup Manager and her Bundle spend type is Globe Trekker. She saves a significant portion of her paycheck for retirement, spends ungodly amounts on food, and pays her credit card bills in full and on time. Her desires to splurge vary widely depending on which way the wind is blowing; cautious overspending. Debra opened her first savings account before the age of 10, and while she's not as diligent about saving as she was in her younger years, she is working towards improving her savings and investment strategy.
Debra's most recent experience comes as an Assistant Vice President at Citigroup where she was the project manager of several technology initiatives. She holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, and always makes sure to set aside enough money to support at least an annual visit to Happy Valley to see a football game.
She’s available at Debra@bundle.com
Dan Ariely is the James B. Duke Professor of Behavioral Economics at Duke University, and the author of the bestselling book Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces that Shape Our Decisions.
