From BundleHQ: Do you want to be rich?
Aw. Someone brought us a flower.
Speaking of hearts and flowers: Emma's online dating chronicle continues, with four dates, grand total: $48. That's not so bad, she writes, but "the bigger price I'm paying is in energy and time," she writes. Meanwhile, Moriah's drooling over the prospect of a new online meat market for Mac fans. Remember those "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" commercials? And now we're not inter-platform dating. Is this the new religious divide? Back to Emma's post: JJ wants to know whether it's cheaper to be single, or in a relationship. Bundle data doesn't have an "in a relationship" category (nor do we have data for "it's complicated"), but our numbers say young married people sans kids spend less than single men (no kids) in every category but shopping, but more than single women. Single men spend more than single women, and this is beginning to sound like an LSAT question. (Mark is wearing a blue sweater, but only on Thursdays, and if he and Susan are going to a picnic, who's bringing potato salad?)
Speaking of 'it's complicated': The Facebook privacy freakouts continue. Mike makes the case this morning that as Facebook has relaxed its privacy protections, sharing every detail of your social life isn't as fun as it first seemed. And now that the site's first generation of users are starting to use Facebook to find a job, oversharing can actually have financial consequences. A cautionary tale.
Speaking of young and impulsive: Kristina, the founder of Do It While You're Young, a travel site for the young, flexible, and wanderlusty, checked out travel budgets on the coasts.
Speaking of Tom Harkin: No we weren't. But now we are! The Iowa senator wants to cap ATM fees at $0.50. Last week he introduced a measure into the financial services overhaul legislation that would do just that. A vote on the measure hasn't been scheduled, but maybe now's a good time to call your senator and let them know what you think. Power to the people! Yeah!
Question of the day: Do you want to be rich? Why, or why not? (And what would that mean, anyway?) Comment, or tweet: #keepyourmoney
