From BundleHQ: Did you overspend during Memorial Day weekend?

Rabbit rabbit.

The hair up there: Will you buy Dawn to support that company's oil-spill relief efforts, Moriah asked. No? Here's something else you can do: donate your hair. Brandie noted that a San Francisco nonprofit makes oil containment booms from human and other animal hair. It sounds crazy! Then again, so does "Kevin Costner to the rescue."

I hate you, because you're just like me: The NBA finals start Thursday, Lakers v. Celtics, 9pm ET, on ABC. There. Now you know. But did you know that in spite of the many obvious differences, residents of the LA and Boston spend their money almost identically? Justin pointed out that in 2009, Angelenos spent more on their cars, and Bostonians traveled more, but otherwise, they're pretty darn similar. Hey, Kobe, maybe you'd look good in green.

What can I bring? Check the Google doc: In the latest installment of "Expensive things I'm so sick of," Kate bemoaned paper plates that cost almost as much as china. Not at my dollar store! She also raised the question of whether it's rude to encourage guests to bring something to a party. Consensus: No way! Email a list to your guests and make it a potluck, or set up a Google doc and have people sign up for something to bring. Perhaps Doodle, my favorite nerdy-social scheduler, can help with this.

Gaming makes you smarter: That's what Greg reports, anyway. And a good thing, too, now that I'm totally hooked on Super Obama World.

Question of the day: Angela was out looking for sales, and Mark just told me he splurged on some halibut tacos. How did you do over the holiday-weekend, spending-wise? Comment below, or tweet at #holidayspending.
