From BundleHQ: A close-up of the new credit card bill, the best credit card paydown advice ever, and extreme parking ticketse

Yup, that's my credit card bill. And check out what's right there in the middle: a big ol' box that spells out just how long it would take to pay off my balance if I only make the minimum payments, plus how much it'll cost me. That's new — legally mandated by the credit reform act — and, as noted above, awesome. In my case, it would take 18 months to knock out that $240 balance. And that's assuming I don't buy anything else in the interim. Still think making the minimum payment is a good idea?

More new features to look out for/get scared by: the box telling you how much you've been charged in fees and in interest this year; the big bold "late payment warning." A lot of stories have been written about how the credit card companies have found new ways to make money and wiggle around the intended consequences of the reform, but these are features I like.

Best advice ever: Monica posed a very excellent question about which credit card to pay off first, one with a high balance, or one with a high interest rate. Angela and Mike differed in their advice, but Kate Carpenter broke the tie pretty quickly: "The best method is the one you'll actually use." Amen, sister.

Nobody likes a parking ticket: Except for Phil, it would seem, who cops to getting one or two per month in his comments on this story about Jill's parking-ticket woes. Has anyone successfully fought a parking ticket? Any tips? It might be too late for Jill, but Phil could use them.

March on $12 a day: Greg tallied his spending for March — all three days of it — and his disclosure prompted Logan and Moriah to tally their receipts too. That's impressive, especially considering I couldn't remember what I spent yesterday. Not a good sign.
