Summer camps seem to have taken the approach of universities when it comes to admissions and tuitions. The parent who hasn't registered in the winter (and started saving even before that!) can feel overwhelmed once summer comes.
But that doesn't mean there aren't still some great and affordable options for summer camps this summer. Here are five places to look for camps and deals.

1. YMCA and Community Organizations
The YMCA is the gold standard for city kid summer camp. It's too late to apply for scholarships—forms for the program, which offers aid based on household income, were due in May—but YMCA summer camps are still affordable options throughout the country.
